2027 4-Star Gene Roebuck Recaps Official Visit to Washington

The recruitment of 2027 four-star wing Gene Roebuck continues to gain momentum, and the La Mirada (CA) standout added another important stop to his process this past weekend with an official visit to the University of Washington.

Roebuck arrived in Seattle on September 11 for his official visit with the Huskies, giving him an opportunity to spend time around head coach Danny Sprinkle and the Washington program while getting a closer look at what his future could look like in Seattle.

Washington has made Roebuck a priority as Sprinkle continues to build the Huskies into a program capable of competing for high-level talent in the new-look Pac-12.

For Roebuck, the visit represented another opportunity to evaluate what Washington can offer both on and off the court. The Huskies have been aggressive in pursuing top talent in the 2027 class, and Roebuck fits the profile of the versatile perimeter players Washington is looking to build around moving forward.

On the court, Roebuck brings a combination of scoring ability, shooting and defensive versatility that has made him one of the more coveted wings in his class. During his high school career at La Mirada, he has averaged 22.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 55 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range and 81 percent from the free-throw line across 79 games.

His defensive ability has also become a major part of his reputation. Roebuck has established himself as one of the better perimeter defenders in the 2027 class while continuing to develop into a more complete offensive threat.

Washington's pursuit of Roebuck comes as the Huskies continue to put together an impressive group of recruiting targets for the 2027 cycle. The program has already been involved with several highly regarded prospects, making Roebuck's official visit an important opportunity for both sides to further evaluate the potential fit.

The Huskies are not alone in the race, however.

Roebuck's recruitment remains wide open, with California and Gonzaga also playing significant roles. He is scheduled to take an official visit to Cal on September 25, while Gonzaga has another visit planned for October 3 during Kraziness in the Kennel. TCU and USC have also remained involved in his recruitment and could potentially receive visits.

The Gonzaga connection is particularly notable. Roebuck previously visited Spokane unofficially in November 2025 and has continued to remain one of Mark Few's top targets in the class.

With Washington now officially in the rearview mirror, Roebuck will continue evaluating his options as his recruitment moves into an important stretch. The Huskies have positioned themselves firmly in the conversation, but with additional visits still ahead, there is plenty of time for the race to develop.

For Washington, landing a player of Roebuck's caliber would represent a major addition to the 2027 recruiting class. For Roebuck, the visit provided another chance to determine which program offers the best combination of development, fit and opportunity at the next level.

With multiple high-level programs still pursuing him, the recruitment of one of California's top 2027 prospects is certainly one to keep an eye on as the fall visit season continues.
