2027 4-Star Point Guard Micah Gordon Commits to Creighton

The Creighton Bluejays have landed one of the most highly regarded point guards in the 2027 recruiting class, as four-star guard Micah Gordon has announced his commitment to Creighton.

Gordon, a Plainfield, New Jersey native who is entering his senior season at SPIRE Academy in Ohio, chose the Bluejays over finalists VCU and West Virginia. The 5-foot-10-to-5-foot-11 lead guard had built a strong national recruitment that included offers from several high-major programs before ultimately deciding to continue his career in the Big East.

A Nationally Ranked Lead Guard

The guard's recruitment featured interest from programs such as Tennessee, Auburn, Providence, UCLA, UConn, VCU and West Virginia, among others. He ultimately narrowed his options to Creighton, VCU and West Virginia before making his decision.

Gordon's decision came after a busy official-visit stretch. He visited VCU in late August, Tennessee in early September and Creighton from September 11-13. He had additional visits planned, but ultimately canceled them as his recruitment moved toward a decision.

Production With PSA Cardinals

Gordon's stock has continued to rise through his production on the Nike EYBL circuit with the PSA Cardinals.

During the 2026 EYBL season, Gordon averaged 18.1 points, 4.7 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game, showing the ability to impact games as both a scorer and primary creator.

His game is built around his ability to consistently put pressure on defenses. Gordon's quickness allows him to get downhill, create advantages in the paint and put defenders in difficult situations. He also has the ability to finish around the basket and create opportunities for teammates once defenses collapse.

Defensively, his quick hands and competitive approach allow him to be disruptive at the point of attack. Despite being smaller than many of the guards he will face at the next level, his strength, athleticism and physical style have helped him consistently compete against high-level competition.

Why Creighton?

For Creighton, Gordon becomes an important piece of the program's 2027 recruiting class and gives new head coach Alan Huss a dynamic lead guard to build around.

Gordon is joining fellow four-star prospect London Dada, giving Creighton two highly regarded commitments in the class. The addition of Gordon gives the Bluejays a player capable of handling the ball, creating offense and applying pressure defensively from the guard position.

The Big East was also an important factor in Gordon's decision. His recruitment ultimately came down to finding a program where he could make an immediate impact while competing at one of the highest levels of college basketball.

What Gordon Brings to the Bluejays

Gordon's biggest strength is his ability to create off the bounce. He plays with constant attacking pressure and has the speed to turn the corner against defenders. His strength and low center of gravity make him difficult to contain once he gets into the lane.

His passing ability adds another dimension. Gordon's EYBL assist numbers demonstrate his ability to create for teammates rather than relying solely on his own scoring. He can operate as a traditional point guard, but his aggressive scoring mentality also allows him to put pressure on defenses as a scorer.

Creighton is getting a guard who has already spent significant time competing against elite national talent. His experience with PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL circuit should provide a strong foundation as he transitions to the college game.

Gordon's commitment represents an early building block for Huss and Creighton's 2027 recruiting class. With a national top-35 prospect now committed, the Bluejays have added a high-level backcourt piece with significant experience and production against some of the best players in his class.

For Gordon, the next step is finishing his senior season at SPIRE Academy before making the jump to the Big East.
