Stock Riser: Lucas Morillo Shines at EYBL Session I
The first EYBL session of 2025 is in the books, and few players helped themselves more than Lucas Morillo of the City Rocks (NY). Morillo was a consistent force all weekend long, showcasing a combination of skill, toughness, and production that has his stock trending upward in a big way.
Morillo made a name for himself with his ability to score the ball in creative ways. Whether it was using crafty finishes around the rim, floaters in traffic, or tough jumpers over contests, he displayed a deep scoring bag that kept defenders guessing. His elite footwork stood out immediately — allowing him to create separation, maneuver through tight spaces, and make difficult plays look smooth and natural.
Beyond scoring, Morillo proved to be a major factor on the glass. Despite facing bigger frontcourts at times, he attacked rebounds with a relentless motor, using his strength and positioning to secure extra possessions for his team. His toughness and versatility at the guard/wing spot were evident, as he consistently took on challenging defensive assignments while also being a primary option on the offensive end.
Lucas Morillo’s performance in Session I sent a clear message: he's a name to know in the 2025 class. With his creative scoring ability, elite footwork, and gritty approach, he’s set up for a huge spring and summer on the EYBL circuit.
