Moussa Kamissoko - Recruitment Update

2027 five-star Moussa Kamissoko is built for the modern wing game and the high-majors are circling

Long, rangy, and already producing against national competition, Moussa Kamissoko has quickly cemented himself as one of the crown jewels of the 2027 class. The 6-foot-8 Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) wing/forward who runs with the PSA Cardinals isn’t just a rankings name, he’s the type of versatile, multi-positional piece that today’s best college programs build around.

Game breakdown: What Kamissoko does best

Shot creation and rim pressure

Kamissoko’s ability to get where he wants off the bounce is already a separator. At his size, he doesn’t need a ton of dribbles to create an advantage, and he can turn the corner to pressure the paint.

Defensive versatility is the foundation

High-level programs recruit wings who can survive, then thrive, across matchups. Kamissoko has drawn praise as a multi-positional defender who can protect the rim and move on the perimeter. He has the ability to defend the rim, shuffle on the perimeter, and sit down on wings/guards.

At 6’8” with growth runway, that’s the type of defensive profile coaches see as an early pathway to minutes.

The swing skill: scoring polish

The next steps are the same ones you see with most long wings: tightening the handle under pressure, becoming more consistent as a shooter, and adding strength so the physicality doesn’t move him off his spots.

Recruitment: who’s involved and what he’s saying

The programs pushing hardest right now

Kamissoko recently stated that he’s been hearing the most from Arkansas, Louisville, Auburn, NC State, and Virginia (along with others).

That list checks out stylistically:

  • Auburn / Arkansas tend to value length, athleticism, and defensive playmaking on the wing.

  • Louisville has a long history of prioritizing long, aggressive wings who can guard and run.

  • NC State and Virginia each offer very different developmental pitches, but both recruit size + versatility heavily.

What happens next

With a 2027 five-star, the “finish line” is still far away, but Kamissoko is already at the stage where relationships, development, and fit start mattering as much as early offers and contact.

If his handle continues to tighten and the jumper becomes more dependable, the current conversation (high-major mainstays and national brands) could quickly turn into an every-blueblood recruitment.
