Houston Rolle's Recruitment is Heating Up: Top-50 Prospect Lands Six Major Offers Since Contact Period Opened

The moment college coaches were allowed to officially begin contacting prospects in the Class of 2028, one name quickly became a priority across the country: Houston Rolle. 

Already regarded as one of the nation's top prospects, the 6-foot-5 wing from Heritage Christian (CA) has wasted no time proving why he belongs among the elite. Ranked No. 50 nationally in the 247Sports Class of 2028 rankings, Rolle has seen his recruitment take off over the past few weeks, adding offers from New Mexico, Creighton, Hawaii, Florida State, Washington, and USC. The latest wave of scholarship opportunities is another indication that high-major programs believe his best basketball is still ahead of him. 

Each school offers something different, making Rolle's recruitment one of the more intriguing storylines to follow in the 2028 class. 

Florida State brings one of the most recognizable brands on his offer list. The Seminoles have consistently recruited long, versatile wings that can defend multiple positions and create offense in transition. Rolle's length, athleticism, and two-way versatility fit the mold that Florida State has built its program around for years. 

USC gives him an opportunity close to home while continuing to build relationships with one of Southern California's top young talents. Keeping elite in-state prospects has become a priority for the Trojans, and extending an offer to Rolle early shows how highly they value his potential. 

Washington has made versatility a major emphasis in its recruiting philosophy. Rolle's ability to handle the basketball, guard several positions, and impact the game without needing plays called for him makes him an attractive piece for the Huskies' future. 

Creighton has developed a national reputation for producing skilled wings who thrive in a spacing-heavy offensive system. Rolle's feel for the game, willingness to move without the basketball, and improving perimeter jumper project well in that style of play. 

New Mexico continues to recruit nationally under its current staff and has become increasingly aggressive in pursuing talented wings with size and positional flexibility. Rolle checks each of those boxes while bringing upside that should continue to grow over the next several years. 

Hawaii rounds out the recent offers after identifying Rolle as another high-level perimeter prospect capable of making an impact at the Division I level. His combination of size, athleticism, and long-term potential made him an easy evaluation for the Rainbow Warriors.  

What Makes Houston Rolle Special? 

Rolle's game is built around versatility. 

Standing 6-foot-5 with good length and fluid athleticism, he has the physical tools every college coach covets on the wing. He plays comfortably with the ball in his hands but doesn't need high usage to affect winning. He fills lanes in transition, attacks closeouts under control, rebounds his position, and has shown the ability to defend multiple spots thanks to his mobility and instincts. 

One of the biggest strengths in his game is how naturally he impacts both ends of the floor. He's active defensively, competes on every possession, and uses his length to disrupt passing lanes while staying engaged as an on-ball defender. 

Offensively, Rolle continues to expand his skill set. He's capable of getting downhill, finishing through contact, and making the extra pass when defenses collapse. His perimeter shooting continues to trend upward, and as that consistency develops, it will make him an even tougher matchup because defenders won't be able to simply sag off and protect the paint. 

Perhaps the biggest reason his recruitment continues to accelerate is his upside. Rolle is still early in his high school career, yet already possesses the size, athletic profile, and basketball instincts that are difficult to teach. Coaches aren't simply recruiting the player he is today, they're recruiting what he projects to become over the next three years. 

With six Division I offers arriving almost immediately after the 2028 contact period opened, it's clear that college programs believe Rolle is only scratching the surface of his potential. As national exposure continues and more live evaluation periods take place, don't expect his recruitment to slow down anytime soon. 

For now, Houston Rolle is firmly establishing himself as one of the premier wings in the Class of 2028, and judging by the momentum surrounding his recruitment, plenty more high-major programs are likely to join the race before long.
