2028 Top-30 Guard Michai White Keeps Rising as High-Major Interest Accelerates

One of the fastest-rising names in the 2028 class is Michai White, a dynamic point guard who has already stacked up early offers and is now drawing even more high-major attention as his profile expands nationally.

White is a 6-foot-1 guard who currently plays at Brewster Academy (N.H.), one of the country’s most recognized prep programs.

From New Jersey scoring bursts to a national stage

Before landing at Brewster, White played his freshman season at St. Benedict’s Prep (N.J.) and put up eye-opening production, reportedly 26 points per game as a freshman, helping fuel the early “national guard to know” buzz. That breakout is a big reason why college staffs have been tracking him so early, and why he’s already being discussed in top-30 terms nationally for 2028.

The move to Brewster only raised the ceiling of his exposure.White transferred to Brewster Academy ahead of his sophomore season after attending St. Benedict’s as a freshman. At a program like Brewster, where the schedule is built around national competition and constant scouting traffic, every strong showing tends to echo quickly through coaching networks.

The offer list is real, and it’s growing

White has been transparent about how quickly things are moving. In an interview with Stockrisers, he said he already holds offers from Louisville, Auburn, Northwestern (plus others like Penn State, Oklahoma State, VCU, Stanford, UNLV, etc.). That aligns with broader recruiting coverage that has consistently tied him to those programs.

Louisville has been a central storyline early in his recruitment. White called Louisville his first high-major offer and described it as a “dream come true,” adding that he’s stayed in communication with the staff.

Auburn is another SEC program squarely in the mix.

Northwestern is on the board as well.

And most recently, Indiana entered the picture with a new offer.

Syracuse interest: trending, but timing matters

While White’s offer sheet is already impressive for a 2028 guard, another development is the recent Syracuse interest. White identified Syracuse as a new program showing interest.

That distinction is important: interest isn’t always an offer, especially this early in the cycle. But it does signal traction, new staff outreach, more evaluation, more communication, and often the beginning of relationship-building that can lead to visits down the road.

Why coaches want in early

Even in an era where recruiting accelerates earlier every year, it still says something when multiple high-major staffs are investing time in a player while he’s still so early in high school.
